The Flying J Farm sells
only organic food grown on our farm. We specialize in Grass-fed
beef because it has much less of the bad cholesterol found in
grain-fed meat and much more Omega-3, Beta Carotene, and CLA than
grain fed beef.
We also offer our own
maple syrup, flour (milled the day before from hard wheat, soft
wheat, and spelt grown on our farm), and a full complement of
organic produce throughout the summer.
We are open to visitors at any time so give us a call and come out
to see the hereford cows and calves, horses, donkey, the garden,
the woods, the streams, the lake, and more!

I grew up
baking the old fashioned way-with real ingredients: fresh fruit from
our orchard, fresh farm raised brown chicken eggs, and everything
hand made. Most of my recipes are heirloom and have been
handed down to me from my Gramma Rose, my Mom (Effie) and my Aunt
Eileen. When I hand roll my cookie dough or roll out my pie
crust I am doing this myself with care and attention to detail.
I specialize
in decorative fruit pies with the flakiest hand-rolled crust you
will ever find. The varieties include: strawberry-rhubarb, apple,
blackberry, blueberry, 4 berry, cherry, and peach. Each pie has a
decorative top crust, unless you choose a crumb top. Pies are 9 inch
or individual 4 inch. Other pies I offer include: pecan and
chocolate chip walnut.
My next
favorite thing to bake are cookies - all kinds of cookies! About
every market I will bring chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut
blossom and snickerdoodle. I also have available butter cream iced
sugar cookies or sometimes specialty hand painted sugar cookies
(these are great for special events), M&M, oatmeal crispies, and
peanut butter.
Another
market favorite has been dessert breads, especially my Lemon Pecan
bread - Yummo! Other varieties include banana nut, blueberry,
pumpkin cream cheese, zucchini spice and cranberry orange.
This year, I
am adding granola bars filled with healthy grains and nuts, JUMBO
cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting, and a variety of moist
coffee cakes.
Not
everything will be brought every market so if there are particular
items you want you can call to place an order and I will bring it to
the market for you to pick up. How convenient is that?
